Chapter 0: Historical Facts
In 1770, a political marriage brought Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette together. Unifying the French family of Bourbons to the Austrian family of Habsbourg. Both of them formed the "France of beauty and luxury of Medieval Europe" (note : 1770 is part of modern times and not medieval). In 1774, Louis XVI ascended to the throne. And his eldest child dies at the age of 7, suffering from tuberculosis, his second son, Louis Charles (Louis XVII later) became the Dauphin.
The French Revolution broke out in July 1789. Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette now executed, Louis XVII was left to die in the Tower of the Temple where he was abandoned. However, on the claim that the dead young boy in the tour was not him, some serious rumors about the survival of Louis XVII began to circulate, there were even people who claim to be Louis XVII.
The DNA tests that got public in 20th century, shed light on the ever-questionable mystery of the Temple’s boy. They say that the heart, 200 years old or so, belongs indeed to Louis XVII and that he found death in the Tower of the Temple. The DNA of this heart is perfectly compatible with those of the descendants of the Habsburg family, from who descends Marie Antoinette also. Asserting officially that the heart belongs indeed to Louis XVII. His heart is sleeping today beside the graves of his parents at the Royal Mausoleum of France at the cathedral of Saint-Denis.
Chapter 1 : Louis XVII’s survival theory
January 21, 1793: Disappearance of Louis XVII.
The Duke of Normandy, Louis XVII, was shut up in the Tower of the Temple under the oversight of violent and threatening cell guards. Beyond violent threats and intimidations for his little body, his little heart was also devoured by a deep loneliness. At this rate, this (day) was supposed to be his last one, in a prison that the sunlight does not reach.
September 19 of the same year: Full moon night, someone made him leave (the prison).
They left his substitute in the Tower. Leaving Paris to hide further; ironically, his mother, Marie Antoinette, was executed on October 16th. His chariot crossed the Place de la Concorde (Place de la Révolution), with a cheerful population for the event (of her execution).
June 8, 1795: The boy, his substitute, who was left in the Tower of Temple dies.
The doctor who took care of his autopsy took away his heart, hid it in his cloak, and took it with him. He put this mummified heart into wine and placed it in his library. As time passed, this heart became like stone.
Chapter 2 : The awakening of Louis XVII
Meanwhile, the real Louis XVI, who was far from Paris, was in a deep sleep between life and death. What he saw in his coma, were the calm days pre-Revolutionary, that he spent with his family. He could feel love only in his dreams.
Thus came 1805. A Louis of 20 years old regains consciousness. But at the same time, the pain of his dense body did not stop. As long as he wanted blood, it will not stop. He woke up while being given vampire blood while sleeping. He could no longer control his thirst on his own. Louis lived his adolescence with a thirst for blood.
Chapter 3 : His meeting with Beethoven
What saved him from becoming a beast depending on human blood was music. As he walked across the hall like a hunter, the melody he heard reasoned him, he who had gone mad with desire. The one who was playing the piano at that time was Ludwig van Beethoven. He was also a vampire.
These two got along quickly, discussed a variety of ideas, and Louis learned music from him. Beethoven was in love with a young human woman. And it is in the name of this love that he forbids himself the drink of blood, saying: "A beautiful melody is alternative to blood". Louis himself was saved by this melody.
Although his body understood his (true) sense : acting against love is immature; he did not understand why he shouldn’t drink blood.
Beethoven lost his audition little by little. It may be a punishment for loving humans. While he’s getting deaf, as beautiful his melodies could be, he will not be able to survive to listen to it again without making food. But even so, in the name of the humans he loved, he did not drink blood.
Chapter 4 : Confession
Before getting totally deaf, he spoke to Louis about everything. That it was he who took him out of the Temple’s Tower. Also, it's up to him to make Louis a king in the future. Now, Louis cannot do anything anymore. "Louis XVII" is supposed to have died in the Tower of the Temple in 1795. Even if he claimed it at this time, no one will believe that it is him the true Louis XVII. It was still too early to talk about it. With the immortality he received and the belief in the Royal Blood circulating in him, he occulted himself in the darkness and waited for the right time.
Chapter 5 : Saint-Denis
1975. The heart of the child who replaced it was transferred to the cathedral of Saint-Denis, where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette sleep.
With the development of medicine, and fearing the discovery of the heart as being fake, Louis XVII went to the Cathedral of Saint-Denis.
The graves of the members of the royal family are aligned. Among them, the heart of a young boy who died at the Tower of the Temple in 1795. If the royal family realized that this is not the heart of Louis XVII, all his authority would be lost. This would be like painting the History of France with mud. And that, should be avoided at all costs.
The words that his friend left [A beautiful melody is alternative to blood], if his words were true, then he has a beautiful melody circulating all through his body. And he will never need "that" again.
He took the false heart out of his ice coffin, and took off his own heart. Then, deposed it on his Throne of ice. It is thus, sadly, that the King of France, Louis XVII, rose gloriously to the Throne.
And here comes 2004. The DNA tests done, made sure that this heart is indeed Louis XVII’s.
The heart of the crownless king sleeps with his parents in the mausoleum of the French royal family at the cathedral of Saint-Denis.
Chapter 6 :
The Empire that has hearts as a territory
Louis had not just lost his biological heart, but also his physiological heart that his lost friend, Beethoven, had gave him.
In order to fill this void, he founded the Rosicrucian Empire; Rose+Croix.
The citizens of this Empire are artists that Louis has chosen from all around the world. Obviously, each one of them is a vampire. They see themselves as "dead", but to be clearer, it is to "immortality" that these dead are assimilated. Because : unlike humans, vampires are far from being "dead". If they are anything, they are surely and simply "living" an Eternal Life, composed of eternal youth and perpetual life.
Transcending the abilities of normal people, in painting, sculpture and music, they intend to dominate people’s hearts (souls) through Art. It is therefore an Empire that has hearts (souls) as territory.
Chapter 7 : Time moved
In this Empire whose citizens have an eternal life, time did not exist.
Louis, fascinated by a certain woman, was going to feel the flow of Time.
This young woman, in an eternal empire where time did not exist, was all he wanted. She made herself a self-portrait, which could be titled "death is inevitable for them," and thus her vanguard did an "invasion".
What she had drawn was full of "Love" to his eyes, it was as warm as the Sun of his memories. On the canvas, she was just as young as when she had fascinated him. Living in the mansion of a Count who took charge of her, she discovered a room that have not been opened from a long time. An old dusty art gallery. She found there a portrait of the Count, her master trainer, on one of the walls that the Sun could not reach. Enchanted by this picture, she began to talk with it, and started painting (on) it, like she used to do in the her past-time hobby.
Chapter 8 : How to love humans
Louis and this woman were naturally attracted to each other. But, loving a human was forbidden for vampires. The vampire who falls in love with a human, should drink her/his blood, give her/him his blood, and make of her/him his subordinate vampire who would by that lose one of his 5 senses.
But Louis could not do that. "Love" to his eyes was just as what she paints, warm. Only those with life can feel things (beings). He wanted her to take (accept) his own love as long as she is alive. To Louis's eyes, loving humans should just be like that.
Chapter 9 : Onfall <Invasion>
(note : I prefer to use ‘Onfall’ since KAMIJO used it in Rose+Croix’s lyrics)
He always contained himself with all his strength for her. He was fighting his frustration for her, and was ready to fight it forever.
She, with an unrealizable love for him, was bearing painful feelings. "I would love to be with you forever" was how she confessed her feelings to Louis.
The Empire with hearts (souls) as territory, the heart of the vampire king at the head of this Empire, by a young human woman, whose heart (soul) has "Love" as a weapon, was invaded.
Chapter 10 : Eternal Indemnity
Louis, pretending to be a witch hunter and disappointed everyone around him by that. But as long as she was by his side, as a human, it would be fine. But the vampire blood that flowed in his veins would not have allowed that for a long time. He finally drank her blood.
Louis made of his beloved one a vampire. So, the two of them will be together forever. Even death will not separate them. And that was in exchange of the feelings deep inside of her, that we call Love.
Thus, the curtain fell on the forbidden love between humans and vampires.
A conflict between two nations of the world, it may happen.
But the hearts (souls) of people are not their true territories.
It would be better to fight with (musical) instruments and brushes.
